Experience these 5 full-body strength workouts. These workouts are member favorites from Move Your Body! Learn how to breathe better, increase your mobility + strength, decrease stress, and get on with your day feeling energized.

I'm here to show you that there are so many ways to get stronger other than "just lifting heavy shit" as seen in your traditional strength training programs.

In this series of workouts we will explore several different types of strength training.

  • Overcoming Isometrics are bouts of effort at maximal intensity, against immovable objects. When utilized properly, this can yield tremendous improvements in neural drive, force production, and strength at specific ranges of motion.
  • Contrast Training involves performing a strength exercise followed by a power movement similar to the strength movement. This training method develops strength + explosive power!
  • Unilateral Strength Training Supersets focuses on exercises that work one side of our body at a time. This offers several benefits compared to traditional squats, bench presses, and deadlifts. Think: core stabilization, improved coordination, injury prevention, as well as working WITH our body's inherent asymmetries which carry over to REAL LIFE activities.
  • Eccentric Strength Training is emphasizing the eccentric (lowering) portion of strength movements. By slowing down and focusing on the eccentric phase of a movement, you increase the time under tension on the muscle which leads to muscle growth and increased strength gains over time. This offers several amazing benefits for women in midlife especially.

Teaching women how to strength train purposefully is my passion. If you are interested in learning more, ask me about my Move Your Body membership. I’ve got 1-1 assessments, LIVE CLASS, and Small Group Training options.
